What is Professional Coaching?

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as a partnering with clients to inspire them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching is particularly important in today’scomplex, ever-changing world to help professionals meet the challenges of life and biz.

Professional Coaches honor their clients as experts of their lives and their work; discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve; encourage client self-discovery; and hold the client responsible and accountable for their progress.

Most people who decide to find a Professional Coach have come to a point in their lives when they realize that working harder doesn’t always yield more success or greater happiness. They realize the need to seek assistance in creating greater success and happiness in life.

Elemental Coaching programs can provide new tools to help you juggle the responsibilities of personal new tools innovative ways to achieve success you want in life and business life, resulting in less wear-and-tear on your health. Let’s face it: we only get one precious life to live. Make it the best one possible!

Why has professional coaching become so popular?

Many changes have occurred in the business world in the past decade. In many instances, traditional employment has been replaced by technology and/or contract labor. Downsizing, mergers and corporation restructuring has forced many professionals to search for new jobs and invent new careers; and the Internet has turned the job field into a fierce, competitive international arena.

In addition, people today are more open to the idea of being in charge of their own lives. Obesity and poor health has become an epidemic in the U.S., with more than half of Americans overweight and suffering the side effects – diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. Stress from working an unfulfilling job or being overwhelmed by home/work imbalances also contributes to disease. People know what they need to live a healthier, longer life, but they don’t have the discipline or motivation to stick with it. They need a coach to succeed.

Is Coaching Like Therapy?

Relax. You won’t be lying on a couch and relating every painful memory of your past. Therapy is more about resolving past emotional pain. Coaching is more future-oriented; it’s about possibilities. Coaching is more of a collaborative venture with action expected from you to establish your goals in life and business, and to design a roadmap to achieve them. A coach is a partner that works with you to identify your goals, recognize what is getting in your way, help you overcome obstacles, and get what you want out of life.

Is Coaching Confidential?

One of the paramount tenets of professional coaching is trust and confidentiality. Everything we talk about will always remain private and confidential. In one word: discretion.
